Single-family house sales increased last month in Sullivan and Ulster counties compared to a year earlier.
There were 42 sales recorded in March by the Sullivan County Board of Realtors, up from 22 in March 2015. The Ulster County Board of Realtors recorded 103 sales last month, up from 79 in the same period in 2015.
Ulster’s median price saw a year-to-year increase to $215,000 from $190,000, while Sullivan’s dipped to $97,500 from $111,250.
For the first quarter, Ulster’s sales increased to 286 from 222 a year earlier, and the median price rose to $190,000 from $174,500. Sullivan’s sales also rose in the first quarter to 110 compared to 68 a year earlier, while the median price dropped in the quarter to $121,875 from $137,950.
